LANCASTER, Pa. – Elliott Coulter set a school record in the 60 meter dash to highlight the season-opening Diplomat Open for the Franklin & Marshall men's track & field team Friday afternoon in the Alumni Sports & Fitness Center. The Diplomats finished with a total of five top-three finishes during their first and only meet of the fall semester.

Coulter was the top qualifier to the finals of the 60 meter dash with his school record preliminary time of 6.96 seconds. He would take second overall in that event after posting a nearly identical mark of 6.97 seconds during the final. Justin Kolpan took eighth in that same event with identical times of 7.21 seconds during both the preliminaries and finals.

Holden Brown was also a runner-up on the track as he took second in the 800 meters. Other action on the track included Adam Green leading the team in both the 200 meters (23.93) and 400 meters (53.82 seconds), with Tom Dowd adding ninth-place showing in the 400 meter race. Seamus Downey (4:49.81 in mile), Owen McCann (9:23.78 in 3,000m), and Tommy Tapino (16:15.94) were F&M's top finishers in the distance races.

Kenny Uchida added a second place finish in the jumps as his best long jump was marked at 6.39 meters. Austin Hadley put down a personal best mark during his second place in the shot put, with his best throw being marked at 13.73 meters. The Diplomats deepest event was the weight throw where three individuals posted top 10 marks in school history. Will Bramley now owns the second-best mark in school history after his throw of 15.15 meters. Ben Ford (12.91m) and Dustin Stoetzel (12.22m) sit in eighth and 10th place, respectively, in the school record book after Friday's meet.

With finals and the winter break now approaching, the Diplomats have over a month away from competition before returning to action on Saturday, January 18 at Catholic's Robert Comstock Cardinal Classic.
