Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball Clipped by Swarthmore

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - On the road against Swarthmore, the Franklin & Marshall Men's Basketball team fell to the Garnet 75-50. It was the final away game of the regular season, as the Diplomats will play their final two games on home floor.

Shooting 3-of-6 from beyond the arc to start the game, F&M trailed 12-9 after the first six minutes. However, the Diplomats then saw a five-minute scoring drought during which Swarthmore scored 11 unanswered to take a 12-point lead. After Vakaris Grauslys broke the drought with a layup to make it 23-11, the Garnet used a 9-0 run to extend their lead to 21. Although F&M cut the deficit to 15 moments later, Swarthmore took a 40-21 advantage heading into the locker rooms.

With the Diplomats failing to score in the first three minutes of the second half, the Garnet grew their lead to 26 with seven consecutive points. Later trailing 49-24, F&M outscored Swarthmore 12-3 over the course of three minutes to get to within 16 with less than 13 minutes remaining. With the two teams then going back-and-forth for the next several possessions, the Garnet held a 57-42 with under 10 minutes left to go. For the remainder of the game, however, the Diplomats shot 3-of-16 from the floor, as Swarthmore closed out the win.

Kevin Nowoswiat led the team in scoring with 17 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the field and 3-of-7 from deep. John Seidman tallied team-highs of both five rebounds and four assists.

Now returning home, F&M will welcome Dickinson to the Mayser Center on Wednesday, February 14 at 8 p.m.
