Men's Basketball Soars Past Dickinson

LANCASTER, Pa. - With four of its players entering double-figures in scoring on the night, the Franklin & Marshall Men's Basketball team defeated Dickinson 78-57. The Diplomats now have one game remaining in the regular season before competing in the Centennial Conference Tournament. 

With the Red Devils taking four of their first six shots of the game from beyond the arc, Dickinson got out to a 6-4 lead after the opening four minutes. After F&M took an 8-6 edge two possessions later, Isaiah Edmond buried another three-pointer for the Red Devils, who jumped back ahead 9-8. It was the last time Dickinson would lead for the remainder of the night, however, as an 8-2 run by the Diplomats put them ahead for good. Later in front 18-15, F&M scored nine unanswered points to extends its lead to 12. With the Red Devils shooting 3-of-10 in the final four minutes of the half, the Diplomats took a 33-22 advantage into the break.

Knocking down its first two shots from the field to start the second half, Dickinson cut the deficit to six less than two minutes into the frame, but was countered by a 7-0 F&M run, which grew the gap to 13. The Red Devils then responded with a 13-5 run over the the next three minutes to get to within five with under 13 minutes remaining in the game. However, Dickinson then shot just 1-of-4 over the next five minutes as the Diplomats went up by as much as 20. With the Red Devils unable to the close the deficit to less than 13 for the rest of the tilt, F&M earned its 18th win of the season. 

Shooting 6-of-10 from the floor on the night, including 2-of-4 from deep, Kevin Nowoswiat scored a team-high 18 points. Josh Parra fell one point shy of a double-double with nine points and 12 rebounds. As a team, the Diplomats had one of their most efficient shooting games from distance, making 11 of their 23 three-point attempts. 

In its regular season finale, F&M will welcome Washington College to the Mayser Center on Saturday, February 17 at 3 p.m.
