Women's Swimming Places Fourth at CC Championships

GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Having completed the fourth and final day of the Centennial Conference Championships, the Franklin & Marshall Women's Swimming team finished in fourth place of the team standings with 417 team points.

Georgia May first opened up Sunday night with a time of 17:38.85 in the 1650-yard freestyle, good for sixth-best in program history. In the following event, Sophie Bergstrom recorded the 10th-best performance in program history in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:11.64.

Matti Harvey later topped the "B" final of the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.25, which now also ranks fifth all-time in program history. Claiming bronze in the 200-yard breaststroke, Catherine Crampton posted the second-best time in program history with a time of 2:24.31.

In the "B" final of the 200-yard butterfly, Maddie Mealey placed second with a time of 2:14.26.

Closing out the championships with the 400-yard freestyle relay, Crampton, Kate Posner, Ruhbani Sidhu and Helen Lahmann-Metcalfe came in the second of the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:38.41.

Overall, the Diplomats tallied two bronze medals and set a pair of program records over the course of the weekend.
