GREENSBORO, N.C. - In its first trip to the NCAA Championships since 2022, the Franklin & Marshall Men's Swimming team saw four of its swimmers compete on day one of the competition.
In the preliminaries of the 50-yard freestyle,
Matt Hurford posted a time of 20.71, good for sixth all-time in program history. Earlier this season, the junior registered a personal-best of 20.33 in the event, which ranks third in program history.Â
Hurford then joined
Sam Kamdin,
Ben Lockey and
John Devaney in the 200-yard medley relay as the quartet recorded a time of 1:31.48, which was just 0.51 seconds shy of their silver medal-winning performance at the Centennial Conference Championships.Â
The Diplomats will now move on to tomorrow, with F&M set to compete in the 200-yard freestyle relay, 400-yard medley relay and 200-yard freestyle.Â
