LANCASTER, Pa.- For the first time in his career,
Peter Mullen of the Franklin & Marshall baseball team has been selected as the Centennial Conference (CC) Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday morning. Mullen becomes the first F&M pitcher to be recognized since teammate
Dan Galef was honored in early April last season.
Mullen delivered a dominant performance last Friday in the Diplomats' 12-1 victory over Rutgers-Newark in game two of its doubleheader against the Scarlet Raiders. The sophomore claimed his second win of the season as he struck out 14 batters, while allowing just one hit and no earned runs in six innings pitched. The 14 strikeouts tied the program individual single-game record that was originally set by Jonathan Cole '20 in 2019. Mullen and Galef combined for 16 strikeouts in the win, which is one-shy of tying the F&M team single-game record.
Mullen currently holds a team-best 2.41 ERA, while sporting a team-high 34 strikeouts so far this season.
Franklin & Marshall welcomes No. 19 TCNJ today at 3:30 p.m. The Diplomats then begin conference action against Swarthmore in a doubleheader on Saturday, starting at noon.
