4MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's tennis team (2-8) lost on the road at Millersville (6-6), 6-1, in Tuesday afternoon's non-conference action.
The Diplomats earned a win in the No. 2 doubles match as the pairing of
Jenna Harrison and
Lorena Saavedra bested their opponent, 7-5. The victory marks the first win for the duo this season.
F&M fell in the first five singles matches of the afternoon. However,
Kakie Colclough defeated her opponent in the No. 6 position, 6-3, 6-1, for her sixth individual win of the season.
Sophia Rhazali (No. 2) and
Amelia Squires (No. 4) also put together hard-fought performances. Despite battling to three sets in each of their matches, the two Diplomats couldn't overpower their respective opponents.
Franklin & Marshall returns to the Brooks Tennis Center on Wednesday, April 3 to host Muhlenberg at 4:00 p.m. F&M's match with the Mules marks the beginning of a three-match homestand that includes a doubleheader against Salisbury and Bryn Mawr on Saturday, April 6.
