LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's tennis team (6-9, 4-1 CC) earned a big 7-2 win over Washington College (4-9, 3-2 CC) in Saturday afternoon's Centennial Conference (CC) match held at the Alumni Sports & Fitness Center.
After the Shorewomen claimed a win in the first doubles match of the day, F&M responded with the duo of Lorena Saavedra and Amelia Squires earning an 8-3 win for their fifth victory together this season. The pairing of Kakie Colclough and Presley Daggett followed with an 8-3 victory of their own to pick up their 10th doubles' win of the year.
Rebecca Bellick (No. 4) and Squires (No. 5) each earned a win in their respective singles matches as both Diplomats improve to nine wins each this year. Bellick downed her opponent, 8-0, while Squires claimed an 8-1 victory. Sophia Rhazali won her match in the No 2 position, 6-4, 6-1, to boost her win total up to eight so far this year. Jenna Harrison defeated her opponent, 6-1, 6-4, in the No. 1 slot for her second win of the season. Colclough rounded out the Diplomats in the No. 6 match as she won by walkover for her fifth victory of the year.
