HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's tennis team (7-10, 5-2 CC) was defeated on the road by No. 33 Haverford (8-5, 5-1 CC), 8-1, in Saturday afternoon's Centennial Conference (CC) matchup. The Fords swept through the singles matches and claimed two of the three doubles matches to cruise past the Diplomats for the victory.
The duo of
Amelia Squires and
Lorena Saavedra earned the lone win on the day for F&M, claiming an 8-6 victory in the middle doubles match for their seventh win of the season.
Kakie Colclough and
Presley Daggett battled in the third match to force a tiebreaker, but fell by a final tally of 8(7)-7(4).
Rebecca Bellick (No. 4) and Colclough (No. 6) both extended their singles matches to three sets, but neither Diplomat could overtake their opponent as Haverford displayed a dominant showing in the singles matches.
Franklin & Marshall now hits the road to play Ursinus on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.
