COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's tennis team (8-10, 6-2 CC) tallied its second sweep of the season as it defeated Ursinus (9-9, 1-7 CC), 9-0, on the road in Tuesday afternoon's Centennial Conference (CC) match.
The duo of
Mackenzie Sherman and
Sophia Rhazali earned an 8-1 win in the first doubles match for their fourth victory of the season together.
Lorena Saavedra and
Amelia Squires downed their opponent in the middle doubles match, 8-2, for their eighth win together this year. The pairing of
Kakie Colclough and
Presley Daggett notched their 12th win this spring as they defeated their opponent, 8-2.
Jenna Harrison started the singles matches with a three-set victory in the No. 1 position. Harrison dropped the first set 6-2, but won the next two, 6-4, 10-6, for her third win of the season. Bellick (No. 4) and Squires (No. 5) improved their wins total to 11 each as both players defeated their respective opponents, 6-2, 6-0. Rhazali registered a 6-4, 6-1 victory in the No. 2 slot to earn her 10th win of the year. Colclough collected a 6-0, 6-1 win the No. 6 match to pick up her seventh victory of the spring. Sherman notched her seventh win of the season as he cruised past her opponent, 6-1, 6-3, in the No. 3 singles match.
Franklin & Marshall returns home to host No. 25 Swarthmore on Senior Day Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
