LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's tennis team (8-11, 6-3 CC) finished up the regular season against Swarthmore (10-5, 7-2 CC), where the Garnet came out victorious, 7-2, Saturday afternoon. Swarthmore cruised on the final day of the regular season – picking up three doubles' wins and four singles' victories.
Rebecca Bellick and
Amelia Squires each claimed wins on the day, improving their season win totals to a team-leading 12 victories each. Bellick eased past her opponent with an 8-3 victory in the No. 4 match, while Squires defeated her opponent, 8-6, in the No. 5 match.
Mackenzie Sherman lost a three-set battle in the No. 3 position. Sherman forced a third set with a 6-3 win in the second, but was defeated, 1(10)-0(6) in the third to drop the match.
Franklin & Marshall now gets set to host Gettysburg in the Centennial Conference Tournament, starting on Tuesday. A start time has not yet been determined.
