GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's tennis team (5-9, 3-1 CC) rallied past Gettysburg (8-4, 1-2 CC) in the singles matches to push past the Bullets, 6-3, in Tuesday afternoon's Centennial Conference (CC) match.
After Gettysburg claimed the first two doubles matches of the day, the pairing of
Kakie Colclough and
Presley Daggett earned an 8-2 victory for their ninth win together this season.
In the singles matches, F&M won the bottom-five matches to jump ahead of the Bullets on the overall scoreboard.
Rebecca Bellick (No. 4) and
Amelia Squires (No. 5) each earned their eighth singles' win of the season. Bellick downed her opponent, 6-4, 6-4, while Squires outlasted her opponent, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
Sophia Rhazali defeated her opponent, 5-7, 6-3, 6-2, in the No. 2 position for her seventh victory of the year. Colclough earned a 6-1, 6-4 win in the No. 6 slot for her fifth singles' victory of the season.
Mackenzie Sherman denied her opponent, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2, in the No. 3 match to pick up her third win of the year.
Franklin & Marshall returns to the Brooks Tennis Center on Saturday to host Washington College at noon.
