CARLISLE, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's cross country team scored 75 points to finish in third place at the Little 3 Championship hosted by Dickinson on Friday evening. Gettysburg took the team title with a score of 23 points, while the host Red Devils scored 37 points to finish in second.

First-year Tara Silverman was the top runner on Friday for the Diplomats as she broke 20 minutes during the first 5,000 meter race of the season (19:24.2) to place seventh overall. Sophomore Katie Scott nearly made it two Diplomats under that threshold as she took 14th place overall with a time of 20:09.6. Junior Annalise Kauffman raced to a third-place finish in 20:31.5 as a trio of Diplomats broke the 21-minute mark.

Four more Diplomats crossed the finish line in under 22 minutes, with Georgia Hodgson (21:15.5), Jordyn Collie (21:20.0), Abby Bachman (21.47.4), and Emily Jones (21:53.7) all coming in during a rapid succession of Diplomat finishers. Anna Atticks (22:16.4) and Hana Hyman (23:24.6) were the eighth and ninth finishers on the night for F&M.

With two races of experience already for the young Diplomats, F&M will now have nearly a month of training before they line up for the second half of the fall schedule. When women's cross country does return to action, it will do so at the prestigious Paul Short Invitational which will be held on Saturday, October 5 at Lehigh.
