Tremba, Albero Named CC Players of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. – Following a historic win over No. 25 Muhlenberg - which was the program's first victory over a top-25 opponent since the 2019 season - two players were individually recognized as Centennial Conference Players of the Week. Quarterback Ty Tremba was named the conference's offensive player of the week for the second time in his career, while linebacker Chris Albero was named the CC's Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career.

Tremba earned his first player of the week honor in the final game of the 2024 season when he threw for four touchdowns and had one rushing touchdown against Gettysburg. Against Muhlenberg he matched that passing total with four more touchdowns as F&M defeated the previously unbeaten Mules by a 28-27 final inside Shadek Stadium. He completed 75 percent of his passes (24-for-32) for 270 yards while connecting with six different receivers. Tremba also carried the ball 14 times for another 54 yards of offense on the ground.

The team captain is leading the Centennial Conference in completions (94) and touchdown passes (16) through the midway point of the season. He additionally ranks second in passing efficiency (168.5) and completion percentage (66.7%) while throwing for 1,176 total yards in 2025.

Making the switch to outside linebacker after playing in the secondary during the early part of his career, Albero tied for the team lead with nine tackles against the Mules. The junior was versatile in all aspects of the game as he had one tackle for loss and also broke up one pass attempt. Albero was additionally on the coverage during Muhlenberg's two point attempt which fell incomplete and left the Mules one point shy in the historically tight matchup.

Albero has made 19 tackles on the year (10 solo), including two stops behind the line of scrimmage. He has additionally served as the team's punt returner where he has accumulated 242 punt return yards through the first five games.

A newly receiving votes team in the national polls, Franklin & Marshall is one of just two remaining undefeated teams in Centennial Conference play following victories against Gettysburg and Muhlenberg. The Diplomats will be back on the road this Saturday as they battle rival Dickinson for The Wagon with kickoff set for 1 p.m. in Carlisle.
