Eight Football Players Named to Academic All-District Team

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Centennial Conference Championship winning Franklin & Marshall football team had the maximum eight student-athletes recognized on the 2025 Academic All-District® Football Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators. These academic all-district teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

In order to be eligible for academic all-district recognition, a student-athlete most be a sophomore, junior, or senior with at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA coming into the 2025 season. They additionally have to start at least 67 percent of a team's games or play in 90 percent of a team's total contests. The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.

Franklin & Marshall Academic All-District Recipients

Owen Banghart made his first appearance on the academic all-district team after playing in 10 games and making eight starts as a sophomore. Banghart led the team with 3.5 sacks on the defensive line and was second on the squad with 8.5 tackles for loss. He had at least one tackle during each of his games played, making a season-high six stops at Gettysburg.

Michael Fleming earned his first academic all-district recognition following first-team All-Centennial Conference honors in 2025. A two-time Centennial Conference Special Teams Player of the Week, Fleming was 10-of-13 on field goals and 35-for-36 on extra points to finish with 65 points scored in the kicking game. His season was highlighted by a 3-for-3 effort at Dickinson as he capped the game by kicking the game-winning field goal in the final seconds to finish with a season-high 11 points against the Red Devils..

Will Galligan added to his awards haul with his first academic all-district recognition during his junior season. The inaugural first-team All-Centennial Conference long snapper was ultimately selected as a third-team D3football.com All-American after earning second-team all-region accolades from the organization.

Jack Harrison was named the academic all-district team for the second time in his career as a junior. Harrison started 10 of the Diplomats' 11 games at wide receiver and finished the season with 36 receptions for 487 yards and six touchdowns. His season started with a season-high 109 yards receiving on eight catches at Lebanon Valley. He caught a touchdown against the Flying Dutchmen in addition to finding the end zone against Muhlenberg, Ursinus (twice), Johns Hopkins, and Eastern.

Michael Poruban earned his second consecutive academic all-district recognition during his senior season. Poruban appeared in nine games for the Diplomats, making seven starts during his senior season. He finished his F&M career with 13 catches for 322 yards and two touchdowns during his time as a Diplomat.

Nathan Schultz was named the academic all-district team for the first time in his career as a sophomore. Schultz appeared in all 11 of the Diplomats games as a defensive back while also seeing time on special teams. Schultz finished with four tackles, including three solo stops.

Ben Shutt started all 11 games at tight end during his sophomore season to earn his first academic all-district recognition. A key component on the team's blocking scheme as well, Shutt caught one pass for four yards during the win at Gettysburg.

Ty Tremba earned the maximum three academic all-district team selections following the conclusion of his senior season. Tremba was a second-team All-Centennial Conference selection at quarterback during his senior season. A team captain and two-time Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week in 2025, Tremba completed 187 of his 303 passes. He threw for 28 touchdowns and had a 154.1 passer rating in addition to 296 rushing yards. Tremba passed for multiple touchdowns in eight different contests, including a season-high five touchdown passes versus Catholic.
