LANCASTER, Pa. – Coming off its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament, the Franklin & Marshall football team has elected five captains who will lead the 2026 team onto the field. Those five rising senior captains are Chris Albero, Jack Harrison, Connor Hille, Michael Poruban, and Aidan Toomey.
Chris Albero has played in all 33 games of his F&M career and received second-team All-Centennial Conference linebacker honors last season. He has made 94 total tackles during his first three seasons, including a career-best 55 stops a season ago. Albero has additionally handled the punt return duties throughout his career where he is averaging nearly eight yards per return.
Jack Harrison enters his senior season as a two-year selection to both the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll and the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team. A wide receiver, Harrison set career highs across the board last season with 36 receptions for 487 yards and six touchdowns. He has caught seven touchdowns throughout his career and enters his senior campaign with 824 total receiving yards.
Connor Hille has earned All-Centennial Conference recognition during each of the past two seasons, including first-team accolades on last year's championship squad. Hille has played in all 22 games during the past two seasons and has made 137 career tackles. He additionally broke up seven passes last season while registering a career-best 72 tackles.
Michael Poruban is another returning two-time selection to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll and the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team. Poruban caught 19 passes for 322 yards and two touchdowns as a sophomore before making seven starts among his nine games played last season. A key contributor on special teams as well during his career, Poruban has made five tackles on return coverage.
Aidan Toomey has been a key part of the offensive line during all 33 games of his Diplomat career. He settled in to the starting center role for the entirety of the 2025 championship run and earned first-team All-CC and second-team all-region honors. Toomey was additionally a second-team All-CC lineman during the 2024 season when he split time between guard and center.
Football went 9-2 a season ago, highlighted by a perfect 7-0 record in Centennial Conference play as the Diplomats made their first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Diplomats earned a first round bye before hosting Eastern in the first-ever NCAA tournament football game on F&M's campus. The 2026 season begins at home at Friday, September 4 at 7 p.m. against Lebanon Valley.
