CHESTERTOWN, Md.- The Franklin & Marshall women's rowing team competed in their second event of the fall on Saturday, squaring up against Washington College in a dual meet.
The Diplomats raced two Varsity 4+ lineups, with each crew competing in a 3,000-meter race, followed by a 1,000-meter race.
The A lineup featured from bow to stern featured
Skyler Houghton,
Nancy Nguyen,
Maria Darrup,
Audrey Zawoiski, and
Macy Bush as coxswain. The crew took second by 4.4 seconds in the 3K, and finished first in a tightly contested 1K.
The B lineup included, from bow to stern,
Sarah Blum,
Savanna Maness,
Mary Mancini,
Louise Truong, and
Lauren Caltrider as coxswain. The crew finished third in both the 3K and 1K races, with times of 15:27.7 and 5:14, respectively.
F&M also entered a women's Varsity 8+ into the 3,000-meter race and 1,000-meter race. The crew heavily consisted of novice rowers who were racing for the first time, and from bow to stern the crew included

Claire Axelrod,
Kate Smith,
Autumn Lingle,
Hazel Abello,
Ruth Donohue,
Lucy Connolly, and Caltrider. The crew took second in both the 3K and 1K races, with times of 16:30 and 5:15.
"A big thanks goes to Washington College for hosting us this weekend," said Head Coach
Bob Brady. "We were able to compete against a fellow school in our conference and put together some strong pieces - including the first races ever for some of our novices. Across the board, everyone showed great progress and development."
The Diplomats conclude their fall season at the Head of the Schuylkill on Saturday, October 25.
