Women's Cross Country Earns Fourth at Paul Short Run

BETHLEHEM, Pa.- The Franklin & Marshall women's cross country team put on an impressive display in their first 6,000 meter race of the season, as two individuals placed in the top five and the team placed fourth overall in Friday's Paul Short Invitational Green Race with 212 points. The Diplomats were the best Division III school in the event that was won by Clarion (133), while two Centennial Conference opponents in Muhlenberg (454) and Ursinus (540) also competed. Tara Silverman claimed second, while Katie Scott followed in fourth place.

Silverman earned silver with a time of 22.18.8 from the field of 286 that finished the event, while Scott's time of 22.31.9 earned her fourth place. Annalise Kauffman was 20th with a time of 23:40.7, completing a trio of Diplomats named award winners for finishing inside of the top 25. Anna Atticks (25:25.9) in 93rd and Hana Hyman (25:35.1) in 101st rounded out the team score. F&M's other runners that featured in the race included Georgia Hodgson (25:42.5), Emily Jones (26:17.0), Sophia Bloom (27:04.5), Abby Bachman (27:21.2), and Lucy Olsen (27:26.3).

The Diplomats continue postseason preparations with another 6,000-meter event when they compete in the Gettysburg Invitational on Saturday, October 18.
