LANCASTER, Pa. – Six members of the Franklin & Marshall men's soccer team were represented on the 2025 College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District® Team. This honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December. To be eligible for this honor a student-athlete most be at least a sophomore and have completed at least one full year at their current institution in addition to maintaining a 3.5 cumulative GPA while playing in at least half of the team's contests. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Andrew Antunes,
Jack Baer,
Jack Borden,
Nico Gonzalez,
Jack Kelly, and
Ethan Phillips all represented F&M on the Academic All-District® Team. Borden and Gonzalez were recognized for the second-straight season, while Antunes, Baer, Kelly, and Phillips were named to the CSC Academic All-District® team for the first time in their respective careers.
Appearing in 16 games with 12 starts, Antunes saw 874 minutes of playing time in the midfield. Antunes made his first-career start against Elizabethtown in September and started every game after. The midfielder recorded six total shots and one shot on goal during his sophomore season.
Baer appeared in all 17 games with 16 starts in the midfield. Baer recorded one goal and two assists this season, while also being selected to the Centennial Conference (CC) All-Sportsmanship Team.
Starting all 17 games this year, Borden highlighted his fall by being recognized as an All-CC Honorable Mention. Borden tallied three goals, one assists, and seven points during his senior season. The midfielder scored his only game-winning goal of the season in F&M's win over Albright in early-October.
Playing a team-high 1,451 minutes this season, Gonzalez was a staple on the F&M defense as he led the Diplomats to four shutouts. Gonzalez also recorded an assist in F&M's 1-1 tie with York (Pa.) in September.
Kelly appeared in 17 games with four starts this fall, recording six shots with two on target. The sophomore logged 723 minutes of playing time and registered his first-career assist in the 1-0 win over Swarthmore in late-September.
Phillips appeared in all 17 games with 16 starts in the midfield this season. The sophomore scored two goals this fall, including his first-career score in the win over Elizabethtown. Phillips found the back of the net in the 18th minute for his first-career game-winning goal.
Franklin & Marshall ended the 2025 season with an overall record of 3-11-3, while earning a CC record of 1-6-2.
