Volleyball Paces Four on CSC Academic All-District® Team

GREENWOOD, Ind.- The Franklin & Marshall volleyball team had four members recognized on the 2025 College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District® Team. This honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.Mya Anderson, Ceci Connolly, Liah Perez, and Coco Shultz were named to the Academic All District® Team from Franklin & Marshall. Perez and Shultz are now three-time representatives on the team, Anderson earned back-to-back selections, and Connolly was named to the team for the first time. 

The 2025 Academic All-District® Volleyball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Mya Anderson, a second-time Academic All District® student-athlete, wrapped up a strong 2025 campaign where she posted the Centennial Conference's eighth-best hitting percentage (.286), the second-best mark on the team. Serving as a team captain, she also earned back-to-back Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll selections. 

Connolly became a first-time AVCA All-American after earning first-team selections to the AVCA All-Region 5 team and All-Centennial Conference team. Academically, she was also named to the Centennial Conference Academic All-Centennial Team and Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll. Among Centennial Conference attackers in 2025, Connolly ended the season ranked fourth in hitting percentage (.313), sixth in kills per set (3.21), and seventh in points per set (3.56), playing a key role in the Centennial Conference's second-most efficient attack (.228 team hitting percentage), the 42nd best mark in DIII. She had 17 matches with ten-plus kills including a career-best 21 kills in October's five-set win over Gettysburg. Her most efficient performance came in September's straight-set sweep of Gallaudet where she hit .619 with 15 kills. In defense, she reached a season-high four blocks in three separate matches. 

Liah Perez is now a three-time Academic All District® representative for the Diplomats following an impressive 2025 campaign where she was named a three-time AVCA All-Region 5 Honorable Mention player while earning a third-straight All-Centennial Conference selection with a spot on the first team. Academically, she also earned back-to-back Centennial Conference Academic All-Centennial spot and a third-straight Academic Honor Roll selections. Among Centennial Conference players, she ranked first in aces per set (0.65) and second in assists per set (5.76). She, Carly Campbell, and Lily Harmon averaged the 14th-most assists per set (12.43) across DIII, guiding the 42nd best attack in the country by hitting percentage (.224). She recorded a season-best 37 assists in November's five-set win over Dickinson, while she had eighth double-double performances (assists, digs). Her eight service aces against Susquehanna in August marked a career-best figure, and it is tied for the sixth-most in a single match. 

Coco Shultz is also now a three-time Academic All District® student-athlete. The two-year team captain earned back-to-back All-Centennial Conference honors, moving up from honorable mention in 2024 to the second team in 2025. She also earned a third-straight Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll spot and her first Academic All-Centennial selection. She became F&M's 21st player with 1,000 career points and the 23rd Diplomat with 1,000 career digs, standing as the 11th player with a 1,000 in both stats categories. Among Centennial Conference players, ranked fourth in aces per set (0.60), and eighth in points per set (3.46). Shultz totaled 14 matches with ten-plus digs, nine matches with ten-plus kills, and eight double-double performances. She posted a career-best 22 kills in November's five-set win over Dickinson, while she set a career-high of 22 digs in the Centennial Conference Championship match against Johns Hopkins. 

The Diplomats concluded 2025 with a 23-7, 9-1 Centennial Conference record that saw F&M win its first NCAA Tournament victory since 2000, the program's fourth overall win in the Tournament. The season included a seven-match winning streak to open the season and 15 straight-set sweeps. In conference play, the team earned its 12th Centennial Conference Tournament Championship appearance, marking the first time since 2022. Across Division III, the Diplomats ranked 14th in assists per set (12.43), 17th in kills per set (13.29), 24th in aces per set (2.82), and 42nd in hitting percentage (.224).
