ITHACA, N.Y. – Competing in its final tune up before next weekend's Centennial Conference Indoor Championships, the Franklin & Marshall men's track & field had a number of individuals post personal bests as the Diplomats traveled to Cornell University for the Marc Deneault Invitational.
The Diplomats' best individual finish came in the weight throw where Will Bramley continued his stretch of top three finishes with a mark of 15.72 meters. That event also saw Ben Ford (13.74m) and Dustin Stoetzel (13.55m) register the seventh and eighth best weight throw performances in school history. The throwing success continued in the shot put as Austin Hadley had a top 10 finish with his best measurement of 12.81 meters.
On the track, Alex Olener was the team's top finisher as he placed eighth in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.17 seconds. That mark is now the sixth-fastest in school history. Adam Green matched that eighth-place finish in the 400 meters as he crossed the line in a time of 53.28 seconds. Justin Harrison also competed in the 400 meters (54.59), while doubling up in the 200 meter dash as well (24.34). The 200 meter contingent was led by Wesley Ihezuo's time of 23.86 seconds after he was marked at 5.80 meters in the long jump. The last field performance came from Greg Bruno who was eighth in the pole vault (3.50m) and 13th in the high jump (1.60m).
Men's track & field will now turn its full attention to the upcoming Centennial Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships which are slated for Saturday, March 1 and Sunday, March 2. The Diplomats will once again serve as the official hosts of the meet which will take place inside the Alumni Sports & Fitness Center.
