LANCASTER, Pa. – The No. 22 Franklin & Marshall women's squash team (3-8) was beaten in its second match of the Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference (MASC) Championships by No. 4 Stanford (6-2), 9-0, on Saturday morning.
The Cardinal cruised through the individual matches, sweeping the top eight matches and earning a default-victory in the No. 9 slot.
Gurlin Kaur (No. 1) and
Zarine Gidwaney (No. 2) kept pace with their opponents, but were held off in the end. Kaur fell 11-2, 11-6, 11-7, while Gidwaney was defeated 11-4, 11-2, 11-6.
Ashanti Amastal battled through the No. 4 match, but her opponent scored 11-5, 11-5, 11-2 to win the match.
No. 22 Franklin & Marshall wraps up the MASC Championships on Sunday with the fifth-place match against No. 19 Dickinson at 2:00 p.m.
