MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Franklin & Marshall women's track & field team started its outdoor season this weekend at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge. The Diplomats competed against schools across all levels of the NCAA and came away with a pair of top 10 performances in school history.

The Diplomats scored their most team points in the steeplechase where Katie Scott (11:53.16) and Tara Silverman (12:17.93) earned respective fourth and seventh place finishes. Scott already owns the second-best time in F&M history for that event and now has the 10th-best time in Division III after the opening week of the season. Silverman turned in the sixth-best time in program history and currently owns the 20th-best time in Division III.

Hayden Adams had a busy first outdoor meet, highlighted by clearing 2.85 meters in the pole vault to place seventh in the field with the sixth-best mark in school history. She was also the team's top finisher in the 100 hurdles with a time of 17.49 seconds. Amanda Imhauser was another multi-event competitor as her weekend was headlined by a mark of 4.75 meters in the long jump to place 32nd.

A number of Diplomats turned in strong performances in the mid-distance and distance events. Hana Hyman was the highest of those placers with a 15th place finish in the 3,000 meters (11:40.59). Annalise Kauffman and Jordyn Collie led F&M in the 5,000 meters with times of 19:18.65 and 19:32.81. Emily Jones was the top Diplomat in the 1,500 meters (5:14.79), while Bella Johnson's time of 27.02 seconds in the 200 meters made her the fastest F&M sprinter this weekend.

The outdoor track & field season continues next weekend with the Little Three Meet as the hammer throw will be held at Gettysburg on Saturday, March 22 before the remainder of the events will be held at Dickinson on Sunday, March 23.
