REDLANDS, Calif. – The Franklin & Marshall baseball team (7-4) was swept in its doubleheader against Redlands (12-7) in Sunday afternoon's series finale. The Bulldogs took game one, 8-1, before completing the sweep with a 10-4 win in game two.
With two hits in game one,
Bobby Falese surpassed David Iacobucci '17 for the program's all-time hits record with 182 career hits. Falese added hit No. 183 and 184 in game two to move into a tie for 25th all-time in the Centennial Conference (CC) record book.

Game 1: (RV) Redlands 8, Franklin & Marshall 1
The Bulldogs made the most of their chances in game one, plating at least one run in six different innings. F&M added a run in the seventh, but left a total of eight runners on base to fall in game one.
Trailing 6-1 in the top of the seventh,
Michael von Zuben singled and later moved around to third on an error by the Redlands' pitcher. A single from
Nolan McCloskey allowed von Zuben to score for the Diplomats' lone run of the game.
Earlier in the contest, Franklin & Marshall had a great opportunity to push across runs and cut into the deficit. In the top of the fifth, von Zuben was hit by a pitch and Andrew Filipelli singled to put two runners on with two outs. After a walk to McCloskey loaded the bases, Redlands forced a fly out to center field – escaping the inning with no damage.
Falese wasn't the only Diplomat to record multiple hits in game one as von Zuben and
Tanner Wolpert registered two each.
Bijan Anvar (2-1) was tagged with his first loss of the season, striking out one and allowing four earned runs in five innings of work.

Game 2: (RV) Redlands 10, Franklin & Marshall 4
F&M erased a three-run deficit to tie the game at 4-4 in the seventh inning. However, Redlands pushed across a run in the bottom of the seventh and five runs in the eighth to complete the series win over the Diplomats.
Franklin & Marshall struck first in the top of the third as Falese singled and advanced to second on a fielder's choice during the next at-bat. With two outs in the inning,
Nick DiGiacomo singled to left field to score Falese and put F&M ahead, 1-0.
Redlands tied the game in the fourth and later took a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the fifth.
The Diplomats fought back in the top of the seventh as
Colin Mackenzie and Desautels hit back-to-back singles to start the inning. Falese then roped a double into the right center field gap to score Mackenzie and cut Redlands' lead in half. The next batter, von Zuben ripped a triple into right center field to score both runners – tying the game at 4-4.
DiGiacomo led F&M with three hits, including two doubles and one RBI in the contest. Desautels, Falese and Mackenzie all finished the game with two hits each.
David McGeorge (1-2) was hit with the loss, tossing six strikeouts and allowing two earned runs in 3.1 innings of relief.
Peter Mullen took a no-decision in the contest, striking out three and allowing three earned runs in four innings-pitched.
Franklin & Marshall now heads to Thousand Oaks, California on Monday to face Cal Lutheran, another team receiving votes in the national poll. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. EST (3:00 p.m. PST)
