ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's tennis team (7-5, 2-2 CC) powered its way past Muhlenberg (1-9, 0-5 CC), 7-0, in Saturday afternoon's Centennial Conference (CC) match. With the win, the Diplomats earned their first sweep of an opponent since the first round of the CC Tournament last season.
The duo of
Sahara Ahmad and
Natalie Untermeyer earned their eighth win of the year together as they blanked their opponent, 6-0, in the No. 1 match. The pairing of
Lorena Saavedra and
Amelia Squires followed with a 6-0 sweep in the No. 2 match for their first win together this season.
Kakie Colclough and
Presley Daggett registered their fourth victory together this spring as the won via walkover in the No. 3 match.
F&M continued its success into the singles matches with
Jenna Harrison claiming a 6-1, 6-0 win in the No. 1 match for her first individual victory this season. Ahmad cruised in the No. 2 match, downing her opponent, 6-0, 6-1, for her seventh singles' win of the year.
Mackenzie Sherman powered past her opponent, 6-1, 6-1, in the No. 3 match to earn her fifth win this spring. Rhazali blanked her opponent in the No. 4 match, 8-0, to pick up her eighth victory this year. Colclough won the No. 5 match, 6-0, 6-0, to claim her second singles' win of the season.
Sarah Miller completed the sweep in the No. 6 match as she won via walkover.
Franklin & Marshall returns home to host Washington College on Tuesday, starting at 4:00 p.m.
