WINCHESTER, Va. – The Franklin & Marshall men's tennis team (7-9, 3-2 CC) was edged, 4-3, by Shenandoah (8-5) in Sunday afternoon's non-conference match. The teams split the singles matches, but the Hornets took two of the three doubles to earn the match victory.
F&M's lone win in the doubles came in the No. 2 match as the pairing of
Luke Brodsky and
Soren Rudin-Aulenbach defeated their opponent, 6-1. With the win, the duo improved to 11 doubles' victories this season.
F&M picked up victories in the bottom-three singles matches, starting with Rudin-Aulenbach outlasting his opponent in the No. 4 match. Rudin-Aulenbach won his match, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2, to tally his 11th singles victory of the year.
Gonzalo Gentou also came out on top of a three-set victory as he won the No. 5 match, 4-6, 6-4, 6-1, for his eighth win of the spring.
Jack Gelman notched a 6-4, 6-0 win in the No. 6 match to record his sixth individual victory of the year.
Franklin & Marshall now heads to Carlisle on Tuesday to play Dickinson at 4:00 p.m.
