Bramley Breaks Hammer Record at Millersville Invitational

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Will Bramley broke his own school record in the hammer to headline five event winners for the men's track & field team at the Millersville Invitational on Saturday.

Bramley's newest personal best in the hammer was marked at 53.74 meters, breaking his previous record of 53.56 meters which he set during the 2024 season. Bramley was one of six Diplomats who claimed top nine finishes in that event, with Joel Pena Fabian taking third (36.79m), Ben Ford placing fifth (36.47m), Ben Ostroski taking sixth (36.11m), and John Feeley placing ninth (27.53m).

Justin Kolpan was another event winner in the throws as he took first place in the javelin with a mark of 62.37 meters. That throw came just a week after the All-American broke his own school record in that event. Dustin Stoetzel (52.32m) and Ford (51.18m) took third and fourth, respectively, in another strong event showing from the Diplomats. Austin Hadley was the team's top finisher in the shot put as his mark of 13.11 meters placed him fourth at the meet. Results of the discus competition were unavailable at press time.

A third winner for Franklin & Marshall in the field events was Greg Bruno as he cleared 3.51 meters in the pole vault in addition to taking fifth in the high jump (1.60m). The Diplomats' event winners on the track were Owen McCann in the 1,500 meters (4:05.56) and Alex Miller in the steeplechase (10:32.76). McCann was one of four F&M runners in the top five of the 1,500 meter race, leading Zach Houff (4:08.52), Tommy Tapino (4:19.87), and George Williams (4:39.22). Cole Smith added a fourth-place finish in the steeplechase (10:57.25) to the team's success in the distance races, while Seamus Downey was second in the 5,000 meters (17:07.38). Houff later added a fifth-place finish in the 400 meters (53.16).

Elliott Coulter highlighted F&M's sprinters when he posted the seventh-best time in school history during a third-place finish in the 200 meters (22.38 seconds). Coulter was also fourth in the 100 meter dash finals, posting a time of 10.97 seconds. Wesley Ihezuo earned a ninth-place finish in the 200 meters (22.75), with several Diplomats doubling the in the sprints. Alex Olener was yet another strong performer, placing third in the 110 hurdles (16.32) and fifth in the long jump (5.46m). The Diplomats took four of the top eight spots in the 800 meters, with Holden Brown (2.:03.29), Owen McCann (2:07.64), Aiden Cotter (2:08.59), and Tommy Tapino (2:15.67) claiming those positions.

Men's track & field wraps up the regular season this coming week when the Diplomats take part in the Elizabethtown Blue Jay Tune-Up. That meet opens on Friday, April 25 and continues through Saturday, April 26. It will be Franklin & Marshall's final competition before the Centennial Conference Championships during the first week of May.
