ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's track & field team won two events and got three more runner-up finishes in its final meet of the regular season when the team traveled to the Elizabethtown Blue Jay Tune-Up this weekend. In addition to those performances, Justin Kolpan competed in the prestigious Penn Relays where he recorded a second-place finish in the javelin.
Kolpan finished second only to The Citadel's Arthur Parham in a field that featured Division I, II, and III athletes. His best throw was marked at 60.43 meters to make him the top Division III finisher.
That performance headlined another overall strong weekend for the Diplomat throwers as Will Bramley won the hammer throw at Elizabethtown when he broke his own school record with a new personal best of 53.78 meters. That throw now ranks 49th in Division III this season. Teammate Dustin Stoetzel was second in that event with a mark of 40.69 meters. Ben Ford also had a PR in the hammer at 39.79 meters which now ranks him third in school history. Stoetzel and Ford were later the second and third-place finishers in the javelin with marks of 52.30 meters and 50.46 meters, respectively.
Austin Hadley won the discus with a throw of 42.15 meters, with Ben Ostroski scoring points with a seventh-place finish in the event (36.45m). Hadley was also the team's top finisher in the shot put with his throw of 11.55 meters.
Franklin & Marshall's best finish on the track came when Owen McCann took second in the 1,500 meters (4:04.79). The Diplomats got another top three finish in the mid-distance events from Zach Houff in the 800 meters (1:56.90). Addison Neuen highlighted the distance events with a third-place finish in the 5,000 meters (16:58.93).
Elliott Coulter matched his personal best in the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.90 seconds in the finals to finish fourth, tying the fourth-best time in program history. Alex Olener was seventh in the 110 meter hurdles (16.59 seconds) and 10th in the triple jump (11.66m). Greg Bruno also scored in the field events with a seventh-place showing in the pole vault (3.22). The Diplomats closed the day with fourth and sixth place finishes from their two team entries in the 4x400 relay.
Up next for the Diplomats is the 2025 Centennial Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Hosted by Ursinus, the conference championships get underway on Friday, May 2 and continue through Sunday, May 4.
