CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The No. 39 Franklin & Marshall men's tennis team (6-8, 2-2 CC) came out on top of a back-and-forth battle at Washington College (8-5, 3-1 CC), defeating the Shoremen, 4-3, in Tuesday afternoon's Centennial Conference (CC) match. Washington College claimed wins in two of the three doubles matched, but the Diplomats responded with four victories in singles to pull away with the match win.

The Diplomats avoided being swept in the doubles matches as the duo of Tucker Chesman and Jack Gelman earned a 6-1 victory in the No. 3 match. The win was the pairing's fifth of the season.

Gelman continued his impressive day by downing his opponent in the No. 5 singles match, 6-0, 6-1, for his ninth individual win this year. Samuel Donnelly cruised past his opponent in the No. 3 match, 6-4, 6-0, to record his eighth singles' victory this spring. Carl Kamdin claimed his fifth win of the season as he pulled away in the No. 4 match, 6-1, 6-4. Gonzalo Gentou sealed the match for the Diplomats as he picked up his third win of the year in the No. 6 match, 6-3, 6-4.

No. 39 Franklin & Marshall now travels to Allentown, Pa. on Saturday to take on Muhlenberg at 1:00 p.m.
