WEST WINDSOR, N.J.- The Franklin & Marshall men's rowing team concluded the spring 2025 season with Sunday's Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference (MARC) Championship on Mercer Lake. The Diplomats raced a Men's Varsity 8 and a Men's Varsity 4.
F&M's Varsity 8+, from bow to stern, featured Jacob Ripperger, Jake Stokes, Max Goldman, Zaeem Zia, Tai Jespersen, Alan Grove, Max Taxter, Moemen Ibrahim, and Don Ang as coxswain. The crew completed the heat event in 7:18.940 to qualify for the Petite Final.
The crew then put together a strong performance with a time of 6:58.96 in the Petite Final, finishing in fourth place against crews from Washington College, Villanova, and St. Mary's (Md.).
The Diplomats' Varsity 4+, raced a straight final, and the crew from bow to stern included Eli Wallace, Ahmed Sherif, Saul Schoenholtz, Peter Kutscher, and Mithayus Diaz as coxswain. The crew claimed seventh in the race with a time of 8:18.024.
F&M ended the event tenth in the points standings with 25 points.
"Both crews walked off the water happy with what they put out on the water, and that's a good thing," said Head Coach Bob Brady. "We know it was a challenging season with many injuries and illnesses, as well as poor weather conditions, but the team worked hard to put together the best pieces they could today and it showed."
Taxter was also named to the All-MARC Second Team, while Schoenholtz placed on the All-Novice Team.
Wallace, Jespersen, Goldman and Ibrahim also earned All-MARC Academic honors.
In addition, the program graduated three seniors on May 10, including Wallace, Grove, and Stokes. Lance Rozenfeld, who graduated early in December, will also be in attendance at the spring graduation ceremony.
"We have a great group of seniors that have been key members of this team this year, and well-before," said Coach Brady. "All of them will be missed, but their impact on the team will carry forward into next year and I wish them the best of luck as they take their next steps beyond F&M."
