LANCASTER, Pa. – Annalise Kauffman and Mackenzie Ward were recently named first-team All-Centennial Conference performers after winning gold medals as the Centennial Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Those honors came in addition to Hayden Adams being named to the CC's All-Sportsmanship Team.
Annalise Kauffman broke through for her first career All-Centennial Conference honor in a big way as she took gold in the 800 meters. After posting the top time during the qualifying heats, the senior backed up that performance was a personal-best time of 2:17.14 to win the event finals.
Mackenzie Ward won the javelin for the second consecutive season. Last year's Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year posted a mark of 37.20 meters and has a personal-best of 40.65 meters. She currently ranks among the top 40 Division III athletes for the javelin this spring.
Hayden Adams was named to the Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Team during her rookie season. Adams competed in four events during her first outdoor championship and scored in each of those events. She was fourth in the pole vault (3.15m), sixth in the 100 hurdles (16.90), sixth in the high jump (1.50m), and eighth in the 4x400 relay (4:16.24).
Women's track & field will be seeking national qualifiers when the Diplomats travel to Williams for the All-Atlantic Regional Championships this Wednesday and Thursday. The Division III National Championships will be held from Thursday, May 22 through Saturday, May 24 in Geneva, Ohio.
