LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall wrestling team had three individuals recognized as Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) Academic Achievement Award winners. Additionally recognized as NWCA Scholar All-Americans, Jack Parker, Mason Leiphart, and Josh Palmucci each received this honor.
To be eligible, student-athletes must have at least a 3.2 GPA and participated in the EIWA Tournament or a 3.0 GPA and represented their institution at the NCAA Division I Championships.
Jack Parker competed as the starter at 125 lbs. for the Diplomats and earns this award for the first time in his career as a sophomore. Looking to declare a major at the end of his sophomore year, Parker went 17-16 this past year with a 9-7 record against EIWA competition. He registered five technical falls and three major decisions among his victories and was just one win shy of placing at the EIWA Championships. Parker placed at both the Southeast Open and Keystone Classic throughout the 2024-25 season.
Mason Leiphart earned the EIWA Academic Achievement Award for the third consecutive season as a junior. A mathematics major, Leiphart won 10 matches despite being limited by a mid-season injury. He was 5-3 against EIWA foes, adding three technical falls to his school record total after leading all Division I wrestlers in that category during his first-year campaign. Leiphart has won 62 career matches, with 29 of them coming against conference competition. The junior went 5-1 in dual meets and placed at the Keystone Classic during this past season.
Josh Palmucci received EIWA Academic Achievement honors for the second consecutive season as the Diplomats' starter at 165 lbs. A neuroscience major, Palmucci won 12 matches during his junior campaign. His win totals included three falls, three technical falls, and two major decisions in addition to seven EIWA victories. Palmucci was also a seventh-place finisher in this year's Keystone Classic.
Franklin & Marshall won three dual meets during the 2024-25 season, with victories against Virginia Military Institute, Sacred Heart, and Millersville. The Diplomats capped their season with a 10th-place team finish and three place winners at the EIWA Championships.
