Lancaster, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's cross country team started its 2025 season with a team victory and individual win at the team's home opener on Friday evening. Katie Scott took the individual victory as the Diplomats had six of the top 10 finishers overall. F&M scored 22 points as a team to defeat local foes Elizabethtown (41) and Lancaster Bible (69).
Scott finished the two mile course in a time of 12:03.2. The Diplomats claimed a 1-2 finish as Annalise Kauffman crossed the line just under seven seconds later (12:10.1). Tara Silverman (12:33.7) and Jordyn Collie (12:54.5) claimed the fourth and sixth positions in the final standings as they each broke the 13 minute mark. Emily Jones was the team's final scorer with a ninth-place showing (13:01.8). Georgia Hodgson also raced her way into the top 10 with a time of 13:10.2.
Hana Hyman was the team's seventh finisher in a time of 13:37.9, with Sophia Bloom just behind her in a time of 13:38.2. All 11 Diplomats competed in the season opening meet, with Abby Bachman (14:19.9), Anna Atticks (14:32.1), and Lucy Olsen (14:39.1) all running at the F&M Invitational.
With a win during the season-opening meet, the Diplomats will now have a week before returning to action at the Little Three Meet on Friday, September 5. Gettysburg will serve as the host of that meet - which also includes Dickinson - that is set for a 5:15 p.m. start.
