GRANVILLE, Ohio. – The No. 22 Franklin & Marshall men's soccer team (0-3) was defeated on the road at No. 6 Denison (3-0), 4-0, in Friday evening's non-conference matchup. The Big Red jumped out to an early lead with two goals in the first 45 minutes of the match.
The Diplomats didn't record a shot until the 72nd minute of the match as
Nathan Schlessinger ripped a shot towards the bottom-left corner of the cage. However, Denison's goalkeeper was in position to make the save. F&M only had two additional shots the rest of the game that were delivered by
Jack Kelly and
Nico Palacios.
Denison tallied 20 shots with 10 on target, while two of F&M's three shots were on goal. The Diplomats also generated all four of their corner kicks during the final 45 minutes of the game.
No. 22 Franklin & Marshall wraps up its three-game road trip at No. 13 Kenyon Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
