Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

No. 22 Men's Soccer Defeated by No. 13 Kenyon

GAMBIER, Ohio. – The No. 22 Franklin & Marshall men's soccer team (0-4) fell short against No. 13 Kenyon (2-1-1), 3-1, in its road non-conference game Sunday afternoon. After the Owls took an early 2-0 lead, F&M cut the deficit in half with a score in the 39th minute. Despite a strong second-half effort, the Diplomats couldn't catch Kenyon on the scoreboard.

Trailing 2-0, Franklin & Marshall drew a foul in the Owl's box to set up a penalty kick opportunity. Thomas Kaplan took the kick and fired his shot into the left side of the cage for his second goal of the season. The score was Kaplan's second penalty kick goal of the fall and the Diplomats' third of the 2025 campaign.

F&M generated seven shots in the second half, but couldn't find the back of the net for the rest of the contest. The Diplomats had a chance for the equalizer in the 80th minute as Kaplan sent a shot towards the Kenyon net, but the Owls' goalkeeper was in perfect position to make the save.

Kenyon outshot F&M, 12-9, in the contest. Kaplan led the Diplomats with both of his shots on target, while Jack Baer and Ethan Howard tallied two shot attempts each in the game.

No. 22 Franklin & Marshall returns to Tylus Field on Saturday to host Elizabethtown in the Battle for the Smith-Herr Boot. Saturday's contest kicks off at 6:00 p.m.
