9/5/2025 7:01:00 PM

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's cross country team bested Dickinson and nearly toppled host Gettysburg during a second place team finish at the Little Three Meet on Friday evening. The Diplomats scored 42 points as a team and beat the Bullets at each of the first three positions before Gettysburg pulled out the championship late with a score of 33 points. Nevertheless, the night was still historic for the Diplomats as they outpaced Dickinson's 57 points to beat the Red Devils at the Little Three Meet for the first time since the 1991 season.

F&M had nine runners post personal cross country times on the 5,000 meter course. The Diplomats finished with half of the top six runners, led by Katie Scott's runner-up finish in a time of 18:41.3. Right behind her was Tara Silverman in third with a time of 18:44.2. Senior Annalise Kauffman took sixth in the field of 35 runners.

Rounding out the scoring performances were Jordyn Collie (20:32.6) and Georgia Hodgson (20:34.7) who claimed the respective 16th and 17th positions. Emily Jones also broke the 21 minute mark (20:39.3) to place 19th. Hana Hyman (21:26.6), Anna Atticks (21:43.3), and Lucy Olsen (23:16.9) each finished with personal bests, while Abby Bachman's time of 23:20.9 rounded out a very strong performance from each of F&M's 10 competitors.

Following a team championship a week ago and a history making meet this evening, women's cross country now has nearly a month of training to get ready for big races during the months of October and November. The Diplomats return to racing action on Friday, October 3 when they take part in the prestigious Paul Short Run which is hosted annually by Lehigh.
