WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Franklin & Marshall men's track & field team scored 13 points to place 11th in the final team standings at the Catholic Track & Field Classic on Saturday. Three different Diplomats scored in the meet held in the nation's capital.
The distance medley relay was the highest-scoring event for the Diplomats as the team of Zach Houff, Brian Mix, Aidan Cotter, and Tommy Tapino crossed the line in a time of 11:01. 96. Houff was also the team's highest finisher individually on the track where he earned a top-10 finish in 54.01 seconds during the 400 meter race.
F&M's other two scoring events came in the throws. Austin Hadley placed fourth in the shot put with his best throw being marked at 13.20 meters. Dustin Stoetzel was seventh in the weight throw with a distance of 13.52 meters. Ben Ostroski just missed a scoring position as he was ninth in the weight throw (12.46m), while James Martin's best shot put of 12.09 meters was just outside of the top 10.
Other action of the track saw Justin Harrison finish as the team's top performer in both the 60 meter dash (7.51) and 200 meter dash (24.56). Habib Oberoi was F&M's top finisher in the 800 meters (2:16.57), while Addison Neuen led all Diplomats in the mile (5:03.34).
Men's track & field will now return to its home facility for the Coach I Invitational this Saturday, January 24.
