Three Diplomats Set Top 10 School Marks at Coach I Invitational

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's indoor track & field team added three new top 10 individual performances to the College's record book on Saturday as the team returned to its home facility to compete at the Coach I Invitational.

The best of those individual performances came in the 800 meters were Zach Houff was the event runner-up in a time of 1:55.60. That time is not only the second-fastest in school history, it is the 36th-quickest time in Division III this season. Brian Mix was another top 20 finisher in that same event with his time of 2:03.90.

Franklin & Marshall's other top 10 individual finishes on the track came from Tommy Tapino as he placed fourth in the 3,000 meters (9:10.22) and the 4x400 relay team of Aiden Cotter, Houff, Mix, and Justin Harrison who finished in 3:35.04. In addition to the relay, Harrison was the team's top finisher in the 60 meter dash (7.62) and 200 meter dash (24.27). Cotter was F&M's top performer in the mile (4:52.67), while Jake Zion led all Diplomats in the 400 meters (55.87).

In the field events, Greg Bruno cleared 3.64 meters in the pole vault to place 11th with the ninth-best individual performance in program history. Dustin Stoetzel recorded the ninth-best individual mark in school history in the weight throw (14.13m). Ben Ostroski (14.56 meters) was the top F&M finish in that event, with Benjamin Ford taking 15th (13.87m).

Austin Hadley's throw of 12.75 meters was F&M's top performance in the shot put, with Ford (12.48m) and James Martin (12.25m) also claiming spots in the top 20. Kenny Uchida earned yet another top 10 finish in the field events for the Diplomats as he took sixth in the long jump (6.29m).

Men's track & field will have the upcoming week away from competition as F&M gets set for the Mini Dip Invitational that is slated for Saturday, February 7 inside the Alumni Sports & Fitness Center.
