Houff Wins Mile at Susquehanna Valentine Invitational

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Zach Houff won the mile and secured a regional championship qualifying time in the mile to highlight the Franklin & Marshall men's track & field action at the Susquehanna Valentine Invitational on Saturday.

Houff's mile time of 4:21.53 not only gave him the individual title, but it additionally gave him another top 10 mark in school history as that time ranks fourth in the F&M indoor record books.

Justin Harrison also hit a conference qualifying mark in the 400 meters (54.23) while additionally leading the team in the 60 meter dash (7.59). Josh Excell (25.33) and Brian Mix (2:05.73) were F&M's top finishers in the 200 meters and 800 meters, respectively to highlight action on the track.

The highest place in the field events came from Benjamin Ford's sixth-place performance in the weight throw (14.41m). He was also the team's top finisher in the shot put (12.64m). Dustin Stoetzel had another top 10 finish in the throws as his mark of 13.86 meters placed him 10th in the weight throw. Kenny Uchida was the Diplomats' best finisher in the jumps as he was marked at 6.49 meters to place seventh in the long jump.

Men's track & field will have one final meet before the Centennial Conference Championships as the squad travels to Cornell next Saturday for the Denault Invitational in Ithaca, N.Y.
