EWING, N.J. – The No. 35 Franklin & Marshall men's tennis team (1-2) overpowered TCNJ (3-2), 4-3, Saturday evening to claim its first victory of the 2026 campaign. After winning two doubles matches, F&M sealed the victory with three wins in the singles matches.
The pairing of
Nate Arnold and
Samuel Donnelly got the day started with a 6-4 win in the No. 2 doubles match for their first win together this season. The duo of
Gonzalo Gentou and
Soren Rudin-Aulenbach followed by downing their opponents in the No. 3 match, 7-5, for their first win as a tandem this year.
F&M fell in the top-two singles bouts, but bounced back by taking three of the final four to secure the win. Rudin-Aulenbach earned a 6-2, 7-5, win in the No. 4 match to claim his third singles' victory this season. Donnelly downed his opponent in three sets, 6-1, 5-7, 1(10)-0(7), in the No. 3 match to pick up his first win of the year. Gentou completed the victory for the Diplomats as he earned a 6-1, 6-2, win in the No. 6 match for his first of the spring.
No. 35 Franklin & Marshall looks to build to the momentum when it travels to play No. 37 Stevens Sunday at noon.
