LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's track & field team put two more individuals on the podium Sunday at the Centennial Conference Indoor Championships. Those scoring performances were part of a weekend that saw the Diplomats score 29 points and finish eighth in the team standings.
Austin Hadley was standing along atop the podium on Sunday as he took home the gold in the shot put with a personal best mark of 15.11 meters. That mark ties him for third in school history and also qualifies him for next weekend's regional championships.
That performance was also historic for another reason as it gave F&M its seventh shot put gold medal in conference history and now gives the Diplomats sole possession of the most shot put titles, with one more than Dickinson. Hadley is the first F&M shot put champion since Vincent Acosta (2014, 15) and Logan Lewis (2016, 17, 18) ran off five straight golds for the Diplomats.
Zach Houff broke the F&M school record in the 800 meters as he finished second in a time of 1:53.37. His new personal broke the original record from Luke Kiskaddon '96 (1:54.36) that stood for over 30 years. That time currently ranks 21st in all of Division III this season as he was the runner up only to the 2025 outdoor national champion from Dickinson.
The Diplomats closed the meet with another scoring performance as the 4x400 relay team of Jake Zion, Brian Mix, Justin Harrison, and Houff finished seventh with a time of 3:32.30.
Franklin & Marshall's postseason schedule continues this coming weekend in New York with the All-Atlantic Regional Championships that open on Friday, March 6 and run through Saturday, March 7.
