BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Zach Houff made his NCAA National Championship debut on Friday afternoon in the 800 meters at the Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships. Houff finished his race in 18th place with a time of 1:57.31.

Houff made his first appearance on the national stage after running a school record time in the 800 meters where he finished as the runner-up during the Centennial Conference Championhips. Houff crossed the line on Friday with a time of 1:57.31 to place sixth overall in the second heat. His heat was won by Dickinson's Trevor Richwine who was the only runner to best Houff at the conference championship and is the defending national champion from the outdoor 800 meters last year.

With today's result marking the conclusion of the indoor track & field season, Franklin & Marshall will return to competition next weekend when the team travels to Washington & Lee for the start of the outdoor campaign.

This story has been edited since unofficial results were posted as a disqualification of one of the competitors moved Zach Houff up to an 18th place finish.
