Women's Golf 2026 Season Preview

LANCASTER, Pa.- The Franklin & Marshall women's golf team opens the 2026 spring at the McDaniel Spring Invitational from The Bridges Golf Club on Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, March 29, beginning Ken Ord's 17th season leading the Diplomats. The team will look to improve on three-consecutive third-place finishes at the Centennial Conference Women's Golf Championship. 

2024-25 Recap

2024-25 featured three tournament victories, six individual medals, and a third-consecutive bronze finish in the Centennial Conference Women's Golf Championship. Across 13 rounds played, F&M averaged a team score of 361.3, which is the program's second-best single-season scoring average. 

All three of F&M's tournament wins came during the six-tournament fall slate. The Diplomats opened the season with first place at the McDaniel Invitational at the South Hills Golf Club, posting a score of 365 (+77) to defeat McDaniel. Janire Egana Vela earned the tournament medal with a score of 85 (+13). A week later, Sarah Wang tied for first place at the McDaniel Fall Invitational from The Bridges Golf Club, recording an 81 (+9), while the team finished in fourth place. The Diplomats followed that tournament with a win at home, securing the victory at the Franklin & Marshall Fall Invitational from the Overlook Golf Course with a team score of 334 (+50). Wang earned her first medal, carding an impressive 72 (+1) which marked her best score of her first season. The Diplomats wrapped up the fall by winning a tri-match at Waynesboro Country Club featuring McDaniel and Dickinson, posting a team score of 350 (+62) while Wang won the round's medal with a score of 77 (+5).

The Diplomats played in four tournaments in the leadup to Centennial Conference Championships. The Diplomats returned to action by claiming second place in the two-round McDaniel Spring Invitational from The Bridges Golf Club. F&M posted a two-day score of 739 (+163), while Egana Vela led the team individually by carding a 170 (+26), tying for third place. A week later, the Diplomats claimed second place in a pair of one-day invites. Wang was the individual medalist at the Dickinson College Invite from the Carlisle Barrack Golf Course, posting a 75 (+3), while the team recorded a score of 345 (+57). A day later, F&M was third at the Gettysburg College Invite from the Carroll Valley Golf Course, carding a team score of 350 (+66). The Diplomats' final competition before conference championships saw Wang win medalist honors at a tri-match against Susquehanna and McDaniel from the Susquehanna Valley Country Club, as the team claimed second place. Wang posted a score of 78 (+8), while the team finished two strokes behind Susquehanna with a score of 360 (+80). 

Wang led the way at the two-round Centennial Conference Women's Golf Championship from the Waynesboro Country Club, posting a combined score of 177 (+33) to tie for ninth place. The team recorded a score of 752 (+176). 

Fall 2025 Recap

The Diplomats competed in five one-day tournaments in the fall of 2025, earning one team victory, three individual medals via Sarah Wang, and the program's first hole-in-one. Across the five rounds, F&M averaged a team score of 354.2, which is on track for the second-best average in program history behind the 349.9 average of 2022-23.

F&M opened the fall with a third-place finish from the six teams that competed at the McDaniel Fall Invitational at The Bridges Golf Club, posting a score of 353 (+65) with a team-best score of 86 (+14) from Wang. The Diplomats then claimed sixth place from the 14 teams entered in the Susquehanna Fall Invitational from the Susquehanna Valley Country Club with a 359 (+79). Wang finished in third place with a 76 (+6), while Allie Tarreto earned her first top-five with a 78 (+8). 

The Diplomats bested Dickinson and McDaniel to win the the F&M Fall Invitational with a 351 (+67). Wang won the event with a 75 (+4). Three more Diplomats followed in the top five with Tarreto (89, +18) in third, Riya Sood (93, +22) in fourth, and Sarah DesChamps (94, +23) tied for fifth. Tarreto logged F&M's first hole-in-one as the Diplomats claimed second place at the Dickinson Fall Invite from the Carlisle Barracks Golf Course with a team score of 342 (+54). Wang was the tournament medalist, finishing the round with 73 strokes (+1). Tarreto was fourth with a 77 (+5). The Diplomats conclude the fall with a fifth-place finish at the Gettysburg Fall Invitational at the Hanover Country Club. Wang posted a 77 (+6) to win the tournament.

Sood had F&M's third-best scoring average in the fall (95.0). Her best round came at the Dickinson Fall Invitational where she finished with 90 strokes (+18) for 12th place. She was also fourth with 93 (+22) at the F&M Fall Invitational.

Tarreto's first fall as a collegiate golfer produced the first hole-in-one in Franklin & Marshall program history when she aced the par-3 sixth hole at the Carlisle Barracks Golf Course at the Dickinson Fall Invite. She averaged 84.6 across five rounds played in the fall, with her best round coming at the Dickinson Fall Invite where she carded a 77 (+5) for fourth place. Her highest finish was third place at the F&M Fall Invitational at the Overlook Golf Course where she tallied 89 strokes (+18). She also posted a 78 (+8) for fifth place at the Susquehanna Fall Invitational from the Susquehanna Valley Country Club. 

The 2025 Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year earned three-consecutive medals to round out the fall, posting a 77.4 average across the five tournaments she played in during the fall. Wang earned medals in the F&M Fall Invitational at the Overlook Golf Course with a 75 (+4), the Dickinson Fall Invitational at the Carlisle Barracks Golf Course with a 73 (+1), and a 77 (+5) at the Gettysburg Fall Invitational at the Hanover Country Club. Wang was a four-time medalist in the 2024-25 season, averaging 80.6 in her first season with a best round of 72 (+1) at the F&M Fall Invitational from the Overlook Golf Course. She tied for ninth at the Centennial Conference Championship, posting a two-round score of 177 (+33) to win the Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year award. 

Centennial Conference Poll

With 26 points, Franklin & Marshall is picked to finish in third place in the 2026 Centennial Conference Women's Golf Preseason Poll following a third-consecutive third-place finish at last year's Centennial Conference Women's Golf Championship. Marymount earned 35 points and five first-place votes to claim first place in the poll, while defending Centennial Conference Women's Golf champions Gettysburg were selected in second place with 32 points and two first-place votes. Dickinson follows the Diplomats with 21 points, while McDaniel is in fifth place with 16 points. Muhlenberg (9) and Ursinus (8) complete this season's preseason poll. The Road Ahead

The Diplomats are slated to compete in four different events this spring including the two-day Centennial Conference Women's Golf Championship from the Waynesboro Country Club. 

F&M opens the spring at the two-day McDaniel Spring Individual from The Bridges Golf Club on Saturday, March 28, and Sunday March 29. A single-day tri-match against McDaniel and Dickinson is scheduled for April 11 at the Carlisle Barracks Golf Course followed by the one-round Dickinson College Invite, yet again from the Carlisle Barracks Golf Course, on Saturday, April 18. The 2026 Centennial Conference Women's Golf Championship returns to the Waynesboro Country Club for the third-consecutive season on Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26. The 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship is slated to be hosted at the Desert Willow Golf Resort in Palm Desert, Calif. From Tuesday, May 19 through Friday, May 22.
