Men's Track & Field Wins Six Events at Little 3 Meet

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's track & field team won six individual events at the Little 3 Meet this weekend against Gettysburg and Dickinson. The Diplomats finished in third place as a team with 105 points. Dickinson won the meet with 147 points, just edging out Gettysburg (144 points) for the team title.

Alex Olener was a two-event winner for F&M as he took home top honors in both the 110 meter hurdles (17.45 seconds) and the triple jump (11.75 meters). Four of the Diplomats' individual titles came in the field events as Kenny Uchida (6.29 meters; long jump), Austin Hadley (44.02 meters; discus), and Dustin Stoetzel (53.69 meters; javelin) were also event champions. Coming off of his NCAA Championship debut during the indoor season, Zach Houff took the title in the 1,500 meters. (4:06.82).

Hadley's regional qualifying mark in the shot put, highlighted an overall strong two days in the throwing events as F&M claimed 10 of the top five finishers across the four throwing events. Hadley was also second in the shot put (13.41m). Stoetzel added a third place finish in the hammer (41.74m) to his weekend. Ben Ostroski was third in the discus (38.59m) and fourth in the hammer (37.53m). Benjamin Ford took fourth in the shot put (12.33m) and discus (36.52m). Nate DeRosa claimed third in the javelin (48.27m), with James Martin taking fifth in the shot put (12.18m).

Greg Bruno starred in multiple field events as he was third in the triple jump (10.83m), fourth in the high jump (1.63m), and fifth in the long jump (1.63m). Adding to the success on the track was a third place in the 200 meters from Justin Harrison (23.96 seconds), while both the 4x400 and 4x800 relays ran to a fourth-place finish.

Men's track & field will now have a week off from competition before it returns to action with a busy week that includes the Messiah Invitational (April 9-11) and Bucknell Invitational (April 11).
