LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's tennis team (3-6, 0-1 CC) fell to No. 16 Swarthmore (8-5, 4-0 CC), 7-0, in Sunday afternoon's Centennial Conference (CC) match at the Brooks Tennis Center. The Garnet held off the Diplomats with two wins in doubles, followed by winning all six singles matches.

F&M jumped out to an early advantage as the pairing of Sophia Rhazali and Natalie Untermeyer outlasted their opponents, 7-5, in the No. 1 match for their fourth win together this season. Despite the early momentum, the Diplomats were defeated in the final two doubles matches to fall behind in the contest.

The Garnet cruised past F&M in singles, winning five of the six matches in straight-sets. Rebecca Bellick battled in the No. 3 match, winning the first set 6-3. However, Swarthmore's Kathleen Shiffer countered with wins in the next two sets to take the match.
Franklin & Marshall looks to get back in the win column when it travels to play Gettysburg on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
