NEW YORK, N.Y. – Tara Silverman broke her own school record in the 3,000 meters and Annalise Kauffman ran an indoor personal best in the 800 meters to highlight day two action for the Franklin & Marshall track & field teams at the All-Atlantic Regional Track & Field Championships. Those performances helped the women finish 15th in the final team standings.
Tara Silverman broke the 10-minute mark for the first time in her career during the 3,000 meters as she crossed the line in a time 9:57.26. That was the Diplomats' second runner-up finish of the weeked at the regional meet. Annalise Kauffman moved up to third in the F&M indoor 800 meter record books with her season-best time of 2:17.52 to place 14th. Hayden Adams also competed for the women on Saturday, clearing 1.49 meters in the high jump.
For the men, Zach Houff just missed a scoring performance as he took ninth in the 800 meters with a time of 1:55.09 just a week after earning the silver medal at the Centennial Conference Championships. Ben Ostroski also competed in the weight throw, with his best mark measuring 14.30 meters.
The track & field teams will now await the official announcement of any potential qualifiers to the NCAA Division III National Indoor Track & Field Championships this week. Houff is ranked 25th nationally for the men in the 800 meters, while Lauren Dunnigan is ranked 29th in Division III for the women in the 60 meter dash. The indoor national championship meet is set for Friday, March 13 and Saturday, March 14 while the outdoor season is set to get underway in Virginia on Friday, March 20.
