CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa.- The Franklin & Marshall women's rowing team competed against crews from Bryn Mawr, St. Mary's (Md.), and Stockton in the Upper Schuylkill Challenge on Saturday.
The Diplomats entered a first and second Varsity 8+ crew into the regatta.
F&M's first Varsity 8+ lineup featured, from bow to stern,
Skyler Houghton,
Autumn Lingle,
Kate Smith,
Savanna Maness,
Nancy Nguyen,
Audrey Zawoiski,
Sarah Blum,
Louise Truong, and
Lauren Caltrider as coxswain. F&M finished in 8:22.67 to claim fourth place in the race.
The team's second Varsity 8+ lineup included, from bow to stern,
Yvette Wang,
Araya Vastani,
Zoey Zhao,
Maya Beda,
Amy Ni,
Claire Axelrod,
Elizabeth Ripperger,
Hazel Abello, and
Macy Bush as coxswain. F&M was fourth in the race with a time of 9:19.67.
"The team has seen continued development over the course of the spring season, and today was no different," said Head Coach
Bob Brady. "As a young crew, they're focused on internal growth that translates to good racing. We're looking to take the next couple of weeks to continue that development as we prepare for Gifford Pinchot and MARCs."
The Diplomats return to racing for the Gifford Pinchot Springs on Saturday, April 25, marking the final tune-up ahead of the Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference Championship
