LEWISBERRY, Pa.- Men's rowing competed in their final regatta ahead of next week's Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference Championship in Saturday's Gifford Pinchot Sprint Regatta, with the men's Varsity 8+ taking gold.
F&M entered one crew apiece into the Varsity 8+ and Varsity 4+ events.
The Varsity 8+ crew entered the week ranked #15 in the IRCA/IRA DIII Varsity 8+ poll, and they also claimed Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference (MARC) Crew of the Week honors. The crew featured, from bow to stern,
Jacob Ripperger,
Peter Kutscher,
Saul Schoenholtz,
Max Taxter,
Max Goldman,
Aemon Cameron,
Tai Jespersen,
Moemen Ibrahim, and
Mithayus Diaz as coxswain. F&M won their race against Carnegie Mellon in 6:23.
The Diplomats' Varsity 4+ included, from bow to stern,
Gordon Clifford,
Harris Zhang,
Kunaal Chatterjee,
Zaeem Zia, and F&M women's rower Manal Fatima as coxswain. Against crews from Binghamton, Carnegie Mellon, Loyola, and Susquehanna, the team claimed fourth place in their heat with a time of 7:54, and sixth place overall out of 10 crews in the event.
"This was a great weekend for racing before we get to MARCs, as both crews were able to put together strong pieces and fine tune their stroke," said Head Coach
Bob Brady. "As we move forward to MARCs, we'll be looking to continue that effort with precision against some great competition."
The Diplomats are back in action on Saturday, May 2, for the 2026 MARC Championship from Pennsauken, N.J.
