Men's Tennis Places Three on CSC Academic All-District® Team

LANCASTER, Pa. – Three members of the Franklin & Marshall men's tennis team were named to the 2026 College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District® Team. This honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December. To be eligible for this honor a student-athlete most be at least a sophomore and have completed at least one full year at their current institution in addition to maintaining a 3.5 cumulative GPA while playing in at least half of the team's contests. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Zac Ashtiani, Luke Brodsky, and Gonzalo Gentou all represented F&M on the Academic All-District® Team. Ashtiani and Gentou were recognized for the third-straight season, while Brodsky earned a spot on the CSC Academic All-District® team for the second time in his career.
 
Ashtiani earned second team All-Centennial Conference honors for singles, while also being named an All-CC honoree for doubles. Ashtiani registered earned 10 wins with three victories against CC opponents, primarily playing in the No. 2 match. The senior had his biggest victory of the season come against Johns Hopkins in early-April, defeating the No. 48 singles player in the nation, 6-4, 2-6, 1(12)-0(10). In doubles, Ashtiani earned 15 wins and was 7-0 in conference play while competing in the No. 1 match.
 
Brodsky was tabbed a first team all-conference selection for both singles and doubles this season. Brodsky recorded eight wins with three victories in conference play, competing primarily in No. 1 singles. The senior was also ranked as high as No. 15 in the Atlantic South Region for singles during the spring. In doubles, Brodsky notched 16 total victories and ended the season on a seven-match winning streak.
 
The duo of Ashtiani and Brodsky posted a 14-5 record together this season, earning a perfect 7-0 record against Centennial Conference opponents. Ashtiani and Brodsky were ranked No. 3 in Region III in the NCAA regional rankings, while also being ranked No. 8 in the Atlantic South region. The pairing was recently selected as the sixth alternate for the 16-team doubles draw at the upcoming NCAA Men's Tennis Championship.
 
Gentou finished his season earning second team All-CC honors in doubles, tallying 13 wins with six victories in conference play. In addition to his great doubles play, Gentou went 8-3 in singles with a perfect 3-0 record against Centennial opponents.
 
Franklin & Marshall earned a 12-7 overall record with a 5-2 record in conference play, making an appearance in the CC Tournament semifinals and reaching as high as No. 33 in the national rankings.
