LANCASTER, Pa. – Nick Aravides has been named the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Diplomats to a dominating 45-8 victory over Westminster (Pa.) on Saturday. The honor is the first of Aravides' career and the first for a Diplomat player this season as the team is off to a 2-0 start.
Aravides had a team-high eight tackles (six solo) and one of the Diplomats' four interceptions during the victory at Westminster. The Diplomats allowed just 75 passing yards to the Titans, who finished with just 182 yards of total offense.
With a pair of victories during the first two weeks of the season, football will wrap up non-conference action this Saturday at 1 p.m. against Catholic. F&M will be making its first trip to Catholic since the 2008 season when those teams meet on Saturday.
